Gcc is a script for ircII that was originally based on Phoenix version 2.01 by vassago. I have concentrated on removing things from the script that were either buggy or of little use while at the same time adding some features I find useful. I have also fixed quite a few bugs in the original Phoenix.

I am currently maintaining this script with ircII-current 20040216 and it will work with only this version or a later version. There are exploits in ircII versions prior to the 20010101 release so you should consider upgrading even if you don't plan to use this script.

Follow this link to download the current stable version of gcc (V0.31).

Follow this link for the latest beta version of gcc. Note that if you get a '404 file not found' message when trying to download the latest beta it means that I have not yet started work on a new version.

You can also get the latest beta in patch format. This patch should apply cleanly to the current stable version of gcc.

If you would like to see the version number/release date for the latest gcc beta follow this link

If you need to upgrade your version of ircII the ircII homepage is here.

If you would like to keep up on script developments or be notified when new versions are released there are two mailing lists you can join.

The gccirc-announce mailing list is a low traffic list which contains only information about new stable releases of gcc. If you would like to be notified every time a new stable version of GCC is released this is the list for you.

The gccirc-discuss mailing list is for the general discussion of the script. It is an anything goes list, feel free to post comments/suggestions/bug reports/feature requests or anything else of interest to users of the script. Announcements of new beta versions will also be announced to this list.

Want to see what's new with gcc? Follow this link to take a look at the version history.

For current news check out the news file distributed with the latest stable version.

I use the GNU privacy guard to sign the stable copy of gcc. You can find my GNUPG public key here and the signature for the current stable version of gcc here.

If you have any comments, suggestions, or wish to file a bug report please send me email at grnd@users.sourceforge.net Bug reports will have top priority for the next release.
